  • Intimate sessions with world-class Bitcoin speakers
  • Learn about topics you won’t hear anywhere else: Bitcoin in real estate, nuclear mining, and the impact all of this will have on the future–for everyone
  • Networking opportunities with like-minded Bitcoiners

But don’t take our word for it, here’s what some 2023 attendees had to say:

“It was an intimate conference. It was easy to meet and talk with fellow bitcoiners. The speakers were great and the enthusiasm was high.”

“I’m looking forward to next year – congratulations on taking the initiative to put it together!“

“You guys had a solid list of speakers and the venue was great.”

Build Your Own Open Source Bitcoin Miner

Do you want to learn how to mine Bitcoin with your own hardware? Do you want to support the network security and decentralization by using open source technology? Do you want to have fun and meet other Bitcoin enthusiasts?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this workshop is for you!
In this workshop, you will learn how to build your own open source Bitcoin miner using the Bitaxe Ultra board and the BM1366 ASIC chip from Bitmain. With D-Central and their team, you will also learn how to configure and run your miner over WiFi and connect it to your preferred mining pool.

What is Bitaxe?

Bitaxe is an open source hardware Bitcoin ASIC miner that uses the BM1366 chip from Bitmain to perform SHA256 hashing. It can mine directly to your pool over WiFi without an external computer. It also has features such as power metering, temperature monitoring, fan control and voltage adjustment. You can find the design files and instructions on GitHub.

What will you need?

To participate in this workshop, we will provide the following on-site:

  • A laptop with WiFi and a USB port
  • A soldering iron and solder
  • A hot air station

You will be given

  • A 5V 10A power supply with a barrel jack connector
  • A Bitaxe PCB board (you can order more online or buy at the workshop)
  • A BM1366 ASIC chip (you can order more online or buy at the workshop)
  • A fan (optional but recommended)
  • A basic understanding of electronics and Bitcoin mining

What will you learn?

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Solder the Bitaxe board and the BM1366 chip
  • Flash the firmware on the ESP32 microcontroller
  • Connect your miner to your WiFi network and your mining pool
  • Monitor and adjust the power, temperature and voltage of your miner
  • Troubleshoot common issues and errors
  • Enjoy the satisfaction of mining Bitcoin with your own hardware

When and where?

There will be two Build Your Own Open Source Bitcoin Miner workshops on Thursday, May 16 for you to choose from: 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. OR 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. You don’t want to miss out on this incredible opportunity to learn more about mining Bitcoin with your own hardware!

How to register?

Limited spaces available! Workshop tickets are available either as an add-on to the conference ticket or separate. You can purchase a workshop ticket without purchasing a conference ticket.
